Not by Our Own Power: Grace at Work in Us

We must always remember the sole source of our strength in pleasing God:

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13).

Paul's Own Testimony

Paul reminds us where the credit truly belongs:

"But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them — yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me" (1 Corinthians 15:10).

Why This Changes Everything

It is tempting to treat good stewardship like a self-improvement project — discipline, willpower, a better budget app. Those things have their place, but they are not the source of faithful stewardship. The strength, inspiration, and growth in managing our lives must come from God through the Holy Spirit in us.

Without that, the growth we experience is simply human effort dressed up in spiritual language — self-righteous rather than Spirit-led.
